Grounds Maintenance Company of the Year – Nurture Landscapes As a national leader in horticulture and green services, Nurture Landscapes delivers grounds maintenance across more than 20,000 client sites with a team of over 2,700 colleagues. Our operations are driven by a strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, ensuring sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Key achievements include: Validation of Science Based Targets to cut emissions by 90% by 2040. A fleet transformation programme with 98% of company cars now electric or hybrid, supported by over 100 installed EV charging points. Deployment of more than 1,300 electric tools and machines, making up 25% of our small equipment fleet. Diverting over 98% of waste from landfill, supported by a circular approach to resources. Investment of £250,000 in green infrastructure projects, alongside biodiversity-focused initiatives such as pollinator habitats, honeybee colonies, and wildflower planting. This shortlisting underlines our role in setting the benchmark for sustainable grounds maintenance and helping clients across sectors achieve their ESG ambitions. Maintenance Contract of the Year – Chiswick Park, Enjoy-Work At Chiswick Park in West London, Nurture has delivered a long-term maintenance partnership that demonstrates how landscape management can go far beyond aesthetics to create real ecological and social value. This iconic business community, home to leading global brands, is managed with a strong focus on biodiversity, wellbeing, and environmental performance. Our dedicated on-site team has: Introduced extensive wildflower meadows and pollinator habitats to increase biodiversity and support urban ecology. Implemented sustainable horticultural practices, including the use of electric equipment and water-efficient systems. Developed innovative community engagement programmes, from educational biodiversity events and sustainability workshops to allotment clubs and “Meet the Bees” sessions for occupiers. Achieved recognition through multiple Green Flag and biodiversity awards, positioning Chiswick Park as one of the UK’s most sustainably managed commercial campuses. This contract showcases how thoughtful, proactive grounds maintenance can transform a corporate landscape into a thriving, nature-rich space that enhances the occupier experience while delivering measurable environmental benefits. Commercial Build Project of the Year (Over £500k) – Bradford City Centre Delivered by Gavin Jones, the transformation of Bradford City Centre is a landmark urban regeneration scheme. Working with Bradford Council, our team replaced 1.6km of vehicle-dominated roads with more than 3 hectares of green parkland, delivering a 24% biodiversity net gain and boosting footfall by 25%. Highlights of the project include: Planting 198 climate-resilient trees and over 25,000 herbaceous plants, alongside 3,100m² of wildflower turf. Integrating Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), including rain gardens and permeable paving, to naturally manage stormwater. Introducing engineered tree pit systems and passive irrigation to ensure healthy root growth and urban cooling benefits. Creating an inclusive public realm that prioritises walkability, wellbeing, and community use, directly contributing to Bradford’s role as UK City of Culture 2025. This flagship project demonstrates how sustainable landscape construction can revitalise city centres, providing both ecological resilience and long-term community value. Looking ahead The winners of the Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Awards 2025 will be announced at the FutureScape / Public Spaces Expo, London ExCeL on Tuesday 7 October 2025.
