Struggling with pests? Share your details and our experts will build a safe, effective plan for you.
While they may be harmless in their natural habitats or even beneficial, the presence of insects inside a property can quickly turn problematic. Insect larvae can damage food supplies and fabrics, while other insects such as wasps can sting when disturbed. Problems with insect pests are more pronounced where food is present due to potential bacterial and physical contamination. Risk intensifies during warmer months with elevated levels of insect activity. Depending on the location, insect infestations can cause a range of problems:
Bites and stings, some of which can cause allergic reactions
Contamination of food and medical equipment
Unpleasant conditions for customers
Damage to products, fabrics, and textiles
Diseases spread by cockroaches and other insects

Nurture Pest Control use an Integrated Pest Management approach to insect control. Our experienced technicians carefully assess the infestation and identify the best solution to treat crawling and flying insect pest problems in your business or home. This ensures effective insect extermination, removal, and cleaning, as well as proposing solutions to protect you from future infestations.
Our treatments include a variety of formulations and methods including:
To assist the efficient detection of bed bugs we also employ a specialist canine team.
At Nurture Pest Control, we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, we assess the problem in full – species, source, scale – and apply the right combination of solutions.
Our experts are equipped to manage all types of insect infestations, from crawling to flying pests, including:
Ants spread fast, contaminating food areas and causing structural damage as they nest. We locate and treat nests directly using gels and bait and implement barriers to prevent reinfestation.
Bed bugs are small, persistent, and distressing. Our bed bug treatments include heat and steam application, supported by carefully selected chemical or natural insecticides.
Known carriers of harmful bacteria, cockroaches multiply quickly and hide in hard-to-reach places. Our treatments include targeted gels, insecticide spray and fogging.
Flies carry disease and threaten food safety. From fruit flies to house flies, we use ULV fogging and spraying, electric fly killers and screens – offering both immediate relief and long-term prevention.
Beetles, moths and weevils can quietly infest dry foods, causing contamination and loss. We isolate the problem, treat it safely, and advise on pest-proof storage to keep your stock protected.
Clothes moths and carpet beetles feed on fabrics, causing costly damage. Our experts use heat and chemical treatments to eliminate them while protecting your materials.
Aggressive and potentially dangerous, wasps and hornets often nest near homes and commercial outdoor spaces. We safely remove nests and advise on seasonal prevention to reduce future risk.

Frequently asked questions
What are the most common insect pests in the UK?
Common species of pest insects include flies, cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, beetles, and moths. Flies cause a significant health risk by contaminating food and are vectors of numerous diseases, carrying bacteria and pathogens from decaying matter to food and kitchen surfaces. The house fly, Musca domestica, has no chewing mouthparts (its mouth is spongelike) and feeds by vomiting on its food before stamping the digestive juices into the surface and then sucking them back up. It will often then defecate before flying away. It is recognised as being a cause of food poisoning, but the smaller Fruit fly, Drosophila species, will also carry significant populations of bacteria.
Cockroches are also notorious for spreading diseases. They carry bacteria and pathogens that can contaminate food, posing serious health risks. They thrive in unsanitary conditions and can quickly infest kitchens, restaurants, and other food-handling establishments. The German Cockroach, Blattella germanica, will also infest households.
