ESG > Net Zero Decarbonisation Strategy

At Nurture Group, sustainability is central to how we operate and grow.

Our journey to a low-carbon future

Our Net Zero Decarbonisation Strategy sets out how we will reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our entire value chain, ensuring our services contribute positively to the environment and the communities we serve.

Our commitment – Science-based targets backed by action

We are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2040.

Our near-term Science Based Targets, validated by the SBTi, include a 42% reduction by 2030, with a 90% reduction by 2040 against a 2022/23 baseline. This pathway is aligned with climate science and the global 1.5°C target.

Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

A data-driven approach to decarbonisation

Our approach is built on robust science, continuous data improvement, and transparent reporting. We follow the GHG Protocol and UK DEFRA guidelines to calculate emissions, reset baselines for acquisitions, and track year-on-year progress.

Key actions include:

  • Transitioning our fleet and operational equipment away from fossil fuels
  • Investing in renewable energy and green infrastructure across depots
  • Engaging suppliers through compliance platforms and sustainable procurement
  • Establishing an SBTi Working Group to embed climate action across all service lines

Milestones on the road to Net Zero

2022/23

Baseline established (post-Covid, pre-acquisition resets)

2030

42% reduction in emissions

2040

90% reduction in absolute emissions with residuals removed via high-quality carbon removal projects

Our pathway is tracked through the annual Carbon Management Plan, ensuring full transparency and accountability.
