At £3.3m in sales, the acquisition doubled Nurture Landscapes at the time and helped it to grow its reach in the north of the UK. Nick Hills, who joined from Park View, is now Nurture’s Chief Operating Officer for Greenspace.

When Gavin Jones was acquired, it brought with it £30m in turnover and 450 colleagues. It boasts a history that goes back more than a century having been founded by Colonel Archibald Gavin Jones in 1919. Over the years, Gavin Jones earned an enviable reputation across landscape construction and working for the Royal Parks and Royal Palaces. At the time of its acquisition, its owner, Martyn Mogford, knew Peter Fane from their time shared at Waterers Landscapes and used the opportunity to retire after 30 years.

Through the acquisition of Rokill, Nurture entered into the pest control market, bringing its clients a new service proposition. The company was founded in 1980 and grew to become one of the largest independently owned pest control companies in the UK. It was renamed Nurture Pest Control in July 2024.

Tivoli Group Ltd was formed from a carve-out from the UK grounds maintenance division of ISS, one of the largest integrated facilities management businesses in the world, rebranding as Tivoli in 2018. The acquisition of Tivoli brought the story full circle for Peter Fane, who founded Waterers Landscapes in 1983, before successfully selling the business to ISS in 2003 to form their UK grounds maintenance division. Peter served on the board of ISS for four years, before founding Nurture in 2008.
