The Nurture Group is proud to be a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and a holder of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award.
At the Nurture Group, we value the leadership, discipline, and resilience that service personnel bring to civilian life. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we’ve formalised our commitment to supporting veterans, reservists, and their families through inclusive recruitment, development opportunities, and flexible workplace policies.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated with fairness and respect. It recognises the sacrifices made by members of the military and seeks to ensure they are not disadvantaged in their everyday lives, particularly when it comes to employment, education, and access to services.
At the Nurture Group, we recognise the unique skills, discipline, and values that Armed Forces personnel bring to the workplace. By signing the Covenant, we formalised our pledge to support current and former service members, reservists, and their families through inclusive employment practices, career opportunities, and workplace flexibility.

“Coming here was the best decision I ever made, because of the qualifications, technical and manual tools knowledge I've gained. It's absolutely fantastic and I wouldn't work anywhere else. It's about dedication and passion and not giving in.”
Calvin Woolman, Contract Manager, Gristwood & Toms
“Maintaining all the sports pitches for the military, I like working outdoors and most of our work is outdoors. I've been on so many courses since working at Gavin Jones, the last one was Level 3 Advanced Turf Culture and it's a good company to work for.”
Ian Lowe, Sports Groundsman, Gavin Jones
“The veterans here, have amassed over 40 years military service between us, from serving on the streets of Northern Ireland, galloping horses across London in shining armour as part of Royal ceremonial duties, to closing down Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. Somehow, we have all managed to end up here in this tiny part England on the edge of London, doing what we love doing – trees..! It's outdoors, it’s dangerous and it's hard work; everything an ex-Soldier needs.”
Andy Steels, Contract Manager, Gristwood & Toms
