News Gavin Jones secures major USAF Grounds Maintenance contract Date: 1st October 2025 Share: Gavin Jones, a Nurture Group company, marked the start of a major new grounds maintenance contract with mobilisation days held across two central locations to welcome and brief all 45 new colleagues. The contract commenced on 27 September 2025 and will run for five years with the potential for a further three-year extension. Valued at approximately £3 million per year, the agreement will see the team delivering a wide range of services to ensure the highest standards are maintained across the estate. The contract includes work across 11 sites, with major base locations such as; RAF Lakenheath, RAF Fairford, RAF Alconbury, RAF Brampton, RAF Croughton, and RAF Caversfield. Key tasks will include grass cutting on airfields and munitions mounds, hedge cutting, shrub bed maintenance, herbicide application to hard standings, leaf clearing, tree surgery, gritting and snow clearance, and pest control. Paul Figg, who led the bid, praised the collaborative effort behind the successful outcome. “This award is the result of an exceptional team effort. I would like to thank Simon Jacob, Dylan Lewis and Andy Mighall for their invaluable contributions to the tendering process and pricing support.” The award also reflects the strong reputation built through Gavin Jones’ delivery of the USAF contract between 2016 and 2019, as well as the ongoing relationships with VIVO and Aspire. The additional works and support provided by Andy Mighall in recent years were also highlighted as a key factor in securing this new contract. This win represents another milestone for Nurture Group and reinforces its position as a trusted partner in maintaining some of the UK’s most important and secure sites.
