News Nurture Group awarded Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award Date: 17th July 2026 Share: Nurture Group is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award – the Ministry of Defence’s highest recognition for employers demonstrating exceptional and sustained support for the Armed Forces community. The Gold Award recognises organisations that go beyond their Armed Forces Covenant commitments by creating Forces-friendly workplaces where veterans, Reservists, military families and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers are supported to succeed. This year, Nurture Group is one of just 162 organisations across the UK to receive the prestigious award. A commitment that goes beyond the award Receiving Gold reflects the work Nurture Group has undertaken over the past 20 months to strengthen its support for the Armed Forces community. This has included enhancing HR policies for Reservists, building partnerships with Armed Forces recruitment organisations, promoting Forces-friendly careers, supporting Defence charities and raising awareness of the Armed Forces Covenant across the business. The award also recognises Nurture Group’s ongoing commitment to attracting the valuable skills, leadership and resilience that service personnel bring to civilian careers. It also reflects the expectations of many of the Group’s defence sector clients, who look to work with organisations that demonstrate a genuine and lasting commitment to the Armed Forces community. A proud part of our heritage Supporting the Armed Forces community is closely linked to Nurture Group’s history. Following the acquisition of Gavin Jones in 2018, the Group inherited a remarkable legacy. Colonel Gavin Jones founded the business in 1919 after returning from military service, building a company that would become one of the UK’s most respected landscaping businesses. Today, that connection continues through Nurture Group’s commitment to supporting veterans, Reservists and military families as they transition into rewarding civilian careers. The Gold Award is an important milestone, and we remain committed to building on this achievement by creating opportunities for the Armed Forces community and championing the values they bring to our business.
