Congratulations to all the winners of this years Nurture Business Plan Prize.

The Nurture business plan, now in it’s 10th year, was created by Peter Fane, Executive Chairman of the Nurture Landscapes Group and UWE Bristol Alumnus, and was set up to encourage and reward new talent within the Business and Law School at the University of the West of England.  It is awarded based on best overall marks for the final year Enterprise Project in one of four categories.

This year’s winners are:

  • Maia Perry – The Nurture Business Plan Prize: The Enterprise Project with the Most Potential (social potential)
  • Ahmad Hakimi Fairus – The Nurture Business Plan Prize: The Enterprise Project with the Most Potential (disruptive potential)
  • Emma Wickham – The Nurture Business Plan Prize: The Best Sustainable Enterprise Project
  • Tamas Mihaly – The Nurture Business Plan Prize: The Best Enterprise Project

Tamas Mihaly winner of The Best Enterprise Project category said “I was super excited to learn that I had won the Nurture Business Plan Prize: The Best Enterprise Project. However, this is just proof that the long hours and the hard work I have put into this project has paid off. At the same time, I would like to say a big thank you to Peter for his support, it really means a lot. It is always nice to get rewarded for your hard work, which will generally further boost your motivation.

I truly believe in my business idea, and I genuinely think that the robust strategy combined with the opportunities digital marketing can offer will help this business to take off. However, to further strengthen my skills and knowledge, I applied for a PPC and Biddable Media Executive role with Loom Digital, and I will be starting at the beginning of September. This will not only help me to develop in digital marketing, but also, I will have a fixed income which is always good to have when starting a new business. I am super excited to see what the future holds for me, and I can’t wait to announce my further successes and social goods.”

Maia Perry, winner of The Enterprise Project with the Most Potential (social potential), commented “Huge thank you for the award, I feel very honoured and excited to have achieved this whilst being a mum, pregnant and self employed! It feels like I have really proven something, not just to myself but to other parents who are unsure about pursing academia. I hope this can incentivise someone else to! My time at present post graduation is spent working, preparing for the arrival of my second daughter and completing websites/courses and all the other groundwork required for the business I won the award for. We hope to have this business up and running by spring next year providing everything goes to plan!

Emma Wickham, winner of The Best Sustainable Enterprise Project, “Thank you so much for giving me the award of The Best Sustainable Enterprise Project, it is truly an honour and is something I’ve brought up in many conversations since! I am so happy with it. I really appreciate my enterprise project being noticed for being green as this was a huge factor in my idea. My plans from now still up in the air. I’ve been taking the summer to relax after a busy few years and collect my thoughts about what it is I want to do next. I have decided I would like to move to London and work for a sustainable company working in a specialised business field such as consultancy or finance – I still have a lot left to decide and am unsure on what my true passion is.”

A huge congratulations to all this year’s worthy winners.
