As part of Nurture’s ESG goals to nurture children’s gardening skills, knowledge, and an interest in the environment, we have assisted Broughton Shopping Park in donating over 3,000 daffodil bulbs to approximately 20 primary schools in the local Broughton area. This initiative is in preparation for the celebration of St. David’s Day in March 2024.

The initiative, unveiled earlier this year, has now come to fruition, marking a growing collaboration between the Nurture Group and Broughton Shopping Park. This considerate gesture signifies the latest in a series of initiatives from Broughton Shopping Park, aligning with their ongoing commitment to positively impact customers, the local community, and the environment, with our support as their landscaping partner.

With the daffodil planting season underway, Alan Pruden-Barker, the centre manager at Broughton Shopping Park, and Andy Molton, Team Leader at Nurture, personally delivered hundreds of bulbs to Broughton Primary School. They actively engaged with the schoolchildren and teachers, guiding them in the planting process within the school garden. Anticipated to bloom in the upcoming spring, this initiative aims to instil a love for gardening and environmental awareness among young minds.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Alan Pruden-Barker mentioned, “It’s brilliant to be able to support so many schools with this donation, and we’re grateful to our partner, Nurture, for helping us to do so. I saw first-hand just how excited the children at Broughton Primary School were to be able to plant their own daffodil, and I’m really looking forward to visiting again on St. David’s Day next year to check out our handiwork and see the bulbs in full bloom!”
