News Nurture recognised for leadership in sustainability and biodiversity by Pro Landscaper Date: 30th August 2024 Share: At Nurture Landscapes, sustainability and biodiversity are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to not only implementing these principles in our work but also sharing our knowledge and inspiring our colleagues, clients, and communities to join us in making a positive impact. We are proud to announce that Nurture Landscapes has been shortlisted in three categories at the Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Awards 2024. These nominations emphasise our dedication to environmental protection and our commitment to creating healthier, safer, and more beautiful world. We couldn’t be more excited to see the results and continue our journey towards a greener future! Sustainable Grounds Maintenance Company Earlier this year, Nurture Landscapes proudly received the Pro Landscaper Grounds Maintenance Award and the highly coveted Supreme Award. Now, we are honoured to be recognised once again for our unwavering commitment to sustainability and biodiversity. Our approach to grounds maintenance extends far beyond the basics. We actively collaborate with our clients to develop and implement innovative environmental solutions that not only meet but exceed their ESG objectives. Through our Nurture Green Solutions initiative, we empower clients to make sustainable choices and inspire the entire industry to embrace environmentally friendly practices. At Nurture, our goal is to create spaces where nature can truly thrive, promoting a greener, more sustainable future. Contract Maintenance for Chineham Park Our work at Chineham Park has earned us a well-deserved spot in the Contract Maintenance category, highlighting our consistent excellence in sustainability and biodiversity since 2020. As one of only three business parks in the UK to achieve the prestigious Wildlife Trust Biodiversity Benchmark, Chineham Park stands as a testament to our innovative approach to planning, preservation, and community engagement. Our efforts have transformed Chineham Park into a haven for wildlife, with vibrant green spaces and significant improvements in ecological health. Some key outcomes include planting over 3,000 new bulbs, introducing 116 grassland plant species, and creating an aquatic wildlife pond. Rewilding initiatives have also been incredibly successful, with over 90 orchids, including the rare Lizard Orchid, now flourishing on-site. This achievement led to our first successful Nurture ‘Orchid Walk’ event in 2024. These accomplishments highlight the team’s commitment to making tangible, positive changes on the ground, ensuring that nature thrives in every space we manage. Nurture’s Environment and Innovation Manager recognised for sustainability and biodiversity leadership We are particularly proud to announce that Dave Taylor, our Environment and Innovation Manager, has been shortlisted for the new Sustainability and Biodiversity Leader award. As the Environment and Innovation Manager, Dave is responsible for engaging and educating Nurture’s colleagues, clients, and the wider community on improving the green spaces we manage. His goal is to drive meaningful environmental improvements that support Nurture’s clients’ sustainability journeys, whether through awareness campaigns, educational workshops, or the development of policies and improvement plans. Dave has been instrumental in advancing Nurture’s sustainability initiatives, including leading the transition to battery-powered machinery, which has reduced CO2 emissions by nearly 90%. His leadership on the Harwell Campus Biodiversity Enhancement Project, which achieved a 27% net gain, sets a new standard in environmental stewardship. Beyond his professional achievements, Dave’s educational outreach has inspired thousands of students, raising awareness and promoting a sense of responsibility towards sustainability from an early age. Your trusted partner in creating vibrant, sustainable environments for the future The Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Awards will be held on 15 October 2024, and we are excited to see the results. Being recognised for our achievements in sustainability and biodiversity is a significant honour, from enhancing biodiversity to ensuring safety and sustainability, we’re here to help our clients create environments where people, businesses and nature flourish.
