News Electrifying the Future: Embracing Innovation Across the UK Date: 2nd January 2025 Share: At Nurture Group, staying ahead of the curve in sustainable innovation is more than just a priority, it’s a promise. As we welcome the New Year, we’re doubling down on our commitment to delivering environmentally friendly services by embracing the latest electric machinery and equipment, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, and empowering our teams with the training they need to lead the way in green practices. To kickstart this exciting chapter, we recently hosted a series of electric equipment and vehicle roadshows across the UK. These events brought together over 200 colleagues, spanning 8 locations, to experience cutting-edge innovations firsthand. Supported by leading manufacturers and suppliers in the electric landscape (including Lister Wilder, Husqvarna, Cramer, Northgate, Armorgard, and Work Systems) this initiative showcased over 30 game-changing technologies that will shape the future of our operations. Our Sustainability Manager, Gordon Brownrigg, reflected on the success of the roadshows, saying: “These events were a fantastic opportunity to engage with our teams, ignite meaningful conversations, and explore the latest in electric alternatives. I’m incredibly grateful to our regional directors, suppliers, and attendees for their support and enthusiasm. The roadshows didn’t just raise awareness internally, they also created a valuable collaboration between our suppliers, strengthening our collective drive toward sustainability.” Asim Iqbal, Head of Fleet and Assets, echoed this sentiment: “The engagement and enthusiasm from colleagues and suppliers were outstanding. Already, we’re seeing equipment from the roadshows being integrated into our plans for 2025-2026, a testament to the events’ impact.” Why Electrification Is Key to Nurture Group’s Net Zero Goals With emissions from fuel use making up 50% of our carbon footprint, the push for electrification is critical to our journey toward net zero. From tools and equipment to vehicles, every step we take toward electrification brings us closer to our sustainability goals while enhancing the efficiency and quality of our services. Key Highlights of the Roadshows: 200+ colleagues engaged 8 locations covered across the UK 6 leading brands demonstrating cutting-edge products 30+ innovative solutions showcased 1,500+ miles of support delivered by sustainable travel (via train and EV) As we move forward into 2025, Nurture Group remains steadfast in our commitment to greener, smarter solutions. This New Year marks a pivotal moment in our environmental journey – a time to reflect, act, and lead by example. With every electric innovation we adopt and every colleague we empower, we’re proving that sustainability isn’t just an aspiration; it’s a way of life. Here’s to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. Together, we’re creating a healthier, safer and more beautiful world.
