News Japanese inspired planting at The Londoner Author: Simon Bennett Date: 7th July 2022 Share: A beautiful izakaya rooftop bar opened at The Londoner, Leicester Square, London We were delighted to work with Edwardian Hotels on their new Japanese themed rooftop bar at the Londoner, Leicester Square. Working alongside Bright Green, leading UK provider of artificial and live plants, we created and installed a beautiful bamboo landscape for the chic lounge area with its striking open-air firepit suspended under a retractable glazed ceiling. Breathing life and greenery into this minimalist Japanese inspired lounge, Bright Green built a curtain of bamboo foliage, planting over 50 artificial small leaved artificial bamboo plants into the impressive wooden framework surrounding the seating area. The bamboo canopy had been designed to spill out from the front and back of the wooden structure to soften the architectural lines. Trough planters filled with bamboo frame the walkways into the rooftop Shima Garden to create an immediate sensory impact on diners as they enter the space. Each bamboo cane has been stained dark brown by hand to enhance the colour scheme of the lounge and to seamlessly transition the space to outdoors. This lush bamboo planting scheme cocoons the seating platform, which is encircled by a vertigo inducing 7-floor drop, adding to the understated elegance and spectacle of this contemporary space. Such a vibrant urban refuge certainly ensures a unique experience for all guests that dine under the breath-taking London night sky. With such striking interior design, every inch of The Londoner has been configured to create a stand-out experience for visitors, capturing the drama of its vibrant West End neighbourhood.
