News Design and Installation Excellence Recognised at Plants@Work Awards Date: 1st November 2023 Share: Plants@Work, the leading interior landscaping association, recently held its first in-person awards ceremony since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, bringing together industry professionals and enthusiasts to celebrate outstanding achievements in interior landscaping. The prestigious Gold Leaf awards, acknowledging the best in design and installation, were among the highlights of the 18th edition of the Plants@Work Leaf Awards, held at The Holiday Inn, Camden Lock, London. Design and Installation Project One standout recipient of a Gold Leaf award in the Design and Installation category was the project titled “Braze.” The project, designed by Clarissa James and executed by Nurture Group, was submitted in the “Over £30,000” category and showcased an exceptional blend of creativity and functionality. Braze, a rapidly expanding company with a global presence, sought a distinctive office space to showcase its European headquarters. Moving away from a WeWork space to 12 Exchange Square near Liverpool Street Station, Braze aimed for a unique and non-corporate atmosphere in their new office. Working closely with Nina Lewis from Braze, designer Clarissa James took on the challenge of creating a space that was not only aesthetically pleasing but also aligned with the client’s vision of a non-corporate and dynamic environment. The project involved extensive planning and execution, considering the specific challenges posed by the two-floor office space. The Braze project was a labour of love, involving the sourcing of established Hydroculture plants to ensure a stunning visual impact from day one. The design team carefully selected a variety of planters, including Rough Puk, Fiberstone Puk, and Ridged Horizontally Abby, to complement the interior. The extensive list of Hydro plants, including Monstera Deliciosa and Philodendron varieties, showcased a commitment to creating a vibrant and ever-changing workspace. The success of the Braze project not only earned it the prestigious Gold Leaf award in the Design and Installation category but also stood as a testament to the creativity, dedication, and expertise of the Nurture Group team. Best Project 2023 – Christmas Installation Nurture Group also claimed the coveted Best Project 2023 award for its breathtaking Gatsby Christmas installation at McCann Worldwide. In a year where the team at McCann Worldwide anticipated spending the festive season in the office due to eased Covid-19 restrictions, the desire to create a memorable and over-the-top Christmas spectacle took centre stage. The aim was to showcase the office space and its potential for hosting festive celebrations. Guided by McCann’s creative background, the team envisioned a modern-traditional setting with a twist – a retro Gatsby Theme. The creative concept embraced the decadence of the Gatsby era, incorporating extravagant designs ranging from feathers to geometric shapes. The objective was to make the space look like a party could unfold at any moment, creating an atmosphere of opulence and celebration. The Gatsby Christmas project became a canvas for limitless creativity, with no boundaries on extravagance. Joanna Marriott, the project’s designer, brought her drawings to life with the help of skilled florists, set designers, and experienced Christmas installation teams. The result was a visually stunning and immersive experience that exceeded the initial brief. The success of the Gatsby Christmas installation was not limited to the awards ceremony; it resonated with both clients and staff. The space received high praise, and the decision to hold team Christmas parties in the office gained popularity, leading to increased bookings for the festive season. The materials and planting choices for the Gatsby Christmas project reflected the commitment to creating a festive extravaganza. Live Christmas trees, feathers, blow-up Christmas balls, replica trees, platinum garlands, and a myriad of other elements contributed to the opulent setting. From LED lights to reusable plastic baubles and geometric decorations, every detail played a crucial role in bringing the Gatsby theme to life.
