The project, led by regional main contractor, Esh Construction on behalf of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, marks a significant step in transforming the town centre into a vibrant and economically successful area. Creating a thriving community hub for all Unique Features: The urban park will showcase unique play areas, flexible spaces, and improved connectivity between the high street and the River Tees via a 55m land bridge. Infrastructural Improvements: The phased development includes the realignment of Riverside Road, extension of the Millennium Footbridge, and the construction of a large-scale amphitheatre. Next month, tree tagging will commence to secure 124 mature trees for the project, with sizes ranging from 14-16 cm up to a girth of 90-100 cm. Gavin Jones will also work with a local supply chain to procure 16,500 shrubs, 54,600 bulbs, and 4,600 square meters of turfing. This urban park project stands as a testament to Stockton’s forward-thinking approach to urban development, promising a brighter, more connected future for its residents and visitors.
