Bedbug sniffer dogs: an advanced approach to effective bedbug removal

Introducing our canine partners in Pest Control

In our ongoing commitment to providing advanced solutions for bed bug prevention, detection, and treatment, Nurture Pest Control is thrilled to announce our partnership with Canine Search partners, introducing the exceptional expertise of bed bug sniffer dogs into our comprehensive pest control toolkit.

How do dogs locate infestations quickly?

These highly trained dogs, celebrated for their work in detecting drugs and explosives, have around 50 times more smell receptors than humans.

Their olfactory abilities are heightened by factors of 10,000 to 100,000. After three months of specialist training, they can detect the specific scent emitted by bed bugs, making them a powerful tool for accurate detection.

Unlike human technicians who may spend hours inspecting rooms, our canine partners can locate live infestations within minutes, including in hard-to-reach spots such as under carpets and floorboards.

Proactive bedbug inspections for early detection

Our bed bug dogs inspect common harbourage points, covering more ground in less time than traditional inspections. In large infestations, they can even identify affected rooms from the corridor. By detecting pheromones, they provide early warnings during scheduled visits, helping prevent full-scale outbreaks.

For their safety, they cannot enter rooms treated with insecticides for six weeks, as this can harm their scent receptors.

Proven results compared to other methods

When it comes to bed bug detection, the success rates of sniffer dogs surpass all other available methods on the market.

Comparing bedbug detection success rates:

Bed bug sniffer dogs: 80% to 90% success rate in early stages
Bed bug traps: Less than 20% success rate in early stages
Human inspections: 50% to 80% success rate

Our dogs are accredited by the Bed Bug Foundation, and our handlers hold BIPDT qualifications. They can inspect 20 rooms in an hour, offering both speed and precision.

Whether used for routine inspections or after signs of an infestation appear, our bed bug detection dogs deliver fast, dependable results.
