Creating an immersive, sustainable festive experience with Nurture Plant Displays

McCann Worldgroup is a leading global marketing network located in the heart of London’s business district at 135 Bishopsgate. As a creative powerhouse serving top-tier international clients, their office environment plays a critical role in showcasing their brand identity, creativity, and culture. Every detail matters, especially during the festive season, when internal engagement and client impressions are high.

Pushing the boundaries of festive design

Following the success of their previous festive installation, McCann sought to elevate their Christmas display. With a vision to create a memorable, interactive and Instagram-worthy experience. Their internal brief called for a concept that not only delivered a powerful visual impact but also aligned with their creative ethos. They recalled a previous self-installed “field of Christmas trees” and wanted to revisit that charm, but bigger, better, and more immersive.

Challenges included:

  • Delivering a high-impact, bespoke festive installation within a corporate office space, including working around solid marble coffee tables and site restrictions.
  • Ensuring the space brought genuine joy and inspiration to staff and visitors, sparking engagement and festive spirit.
  • Creating a design that wasn’t wasteful or ‘off the shelf’ but handcrafted, considered, and sustainable.

They needed a partner they could trust to bring bold ideas to life with precision and creativity.

A bespoke ‘Après Ski’ winter wonderland

Nurture Plant Display’s design and installation experts, led by Joanna Marriott, developed a bold creative concept, an immersive Après Ski theme complete with handmade signage, repurposed props, and live trees that could be replanted post-installation.

The concept included:

  • A bespoke ski bar complete with handmade “Holiday Valley” signage
  • A re-used igloo from a past event, cleverly adapted for a new setting
  • Handmade paper mâché snowballs, wooden barrels, and display skis
  • Live and replica Christmas trees to create layered visual impact
  • A snowy mountain prop and interactive elements throughout

Materials were carefully sourced from Etsy, eBay, and even Facebook Marketplace, highlighting a resourceful and sustainable approach that avoided mass-produced decoration.

Installation curated with precision and care

Installation took place from 24 November to 30 December 2023, led onsite by Joanna Marriott who ensured every design element was faithfully executed. Challenges such as working around heavy reception furniture were turned into opportunities. For example, the marble tables were reimagined as Après Ski seating with faux fur rugs.

The igloo, which took a day to pre-assemble at the Nurture office, was delivered in carefully labelled sections due to its complexity. Every detail was considered to streamline setup, reduce disruption, and deliver a polished result on time.

A transformed space that delivered on every level

The installation was a resounding success. The festive design:

  • Exceeded the client’s expectations, especially in its attention to handmade detail
  • Used live potted trees, allowing for early installation and environmentally friendly replanting after use
  • Inspired the McCann team so much that the igloo was repurposed as a bookable meeting space throughout the season

At Nurture, we believe every space has the potential to inspire.

Whether it’s a high-profile office reception, a client-facing venue or an internal breakout area, we help businesses create meaningful experiences through thoughtfully designed green and festive installations.
