Gavin Jones mobilises extensive team for VINCI Facilities contract
04 April 2025

Gavin Jones, part of the Nurture Group, successfully held a VINCI Facilities mobilisation day, marking a significant milestone in the integration of Tivoli into the Group. The event brought together a large team of grounds maintenance operatives, 25 managers, and several members of VINCI’s management team, ensuring a smooth transition under the Gavin Jones brand.
The contract, secured for an initial four-year period with a three-year extension option, is part of the South-East Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) built estate contract, originally awarded to Tivoli in 2022. As part of this transition, we strategically rebranded operations under Gavin Jones to align with other FDIS contracts within the Nurture Group.
In support of the contract transition, our fleet team has played a key role in rewrapping all former Tivoli vehicles in the Gavin Jones branding. The livery proudly showcases our collaborative approach, with “Working in partnership with VINCI Facilities” featured prominently, a reflection of our shared commitment to excellence in grounds maintenance.
In addition, we have delivered a brand-new fleet of vehicles, including a set of Isuzu D-Max 4x4 vehicles, ensuring enhanced operational efficiency and reliability. The team has also been equipped with a range of brand-new Kubota and Toro ride-on mowers, enhancing capabilities across the contract and supports the delivery of high-quality grounds maintenance services.

A future-focused grounds maintenance contract
Gavin Noble, VINCI Facilities Head of Operations (South), shared his enthusiasm for this new chapter:
"After an extensive sourcing process and mobilisation period we are delighted to see Gavin Jones, part of the Nurture Group, commence delivery of Grounds Maintenance and Tree Management services on the MOD Built Estate across London and the South-East of England through DIO/VINCI Facilities FDIS Built Estate contract.
“The contract, for an initial period of four years, will see a significant capital injection, modernising plant and supporting a significant increase in automation through the roll out of autonomous mowers and spider bank trimmers. Through electrifying tools and vehicles, we will reduce CO2 emissions equivalent to twenty industrial vehicles per annum and we are very excited to roll out a sustainability fund, supporting the re-wilding of land across the built estate.
“As we enter grass cutting season across the substantial grounds’ operation, most importantly we would like to take a moment to thank all grounds maintenance operatives for their continued hard work and dedication, which is important for operational needs and the lived experience of our service personnel."
Health & Safety: Home Safe Everyday
Health & Safety was a key focus of the mobilisation day, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring every team member remains ‘Home Safe Everyday’. Robin Jackson, SHEQ Manager, led an important session covering a range of topics, including PPE, risk assessments, equipment safety, and mental health and wellbeing.
The presentation highlighted the importance of personal responsibility and proactive safety leadership, focusing on five key principles:
- Understanding and following safety rules and procedures.
- Stopping work if safety concerns arise.
- Having the confidence to speak up about safety issues.
- Taking action and leading by example to create a safer work environment.
- Making safety a daily conversation within teams.
This session reinforced that safety is not just a priority but a core value that underpins everything we do at Nurture Group.

Improving landscapes with ESG and sustainability commitments
As part of the mobilisation day, sustainability was a key focus. Monika Žilionytė, VINCI Facilities Sustainability Procurement Manager, delivered a presentation outlining VINCI’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, social engagement and carbon emission measurements for Scope 3.
Additionally, Steve Packman, Nurture Group’s Environmental and Innovations Manager, presented a detailed presentation on Nurture’s Green Solutions offering. Highlighting how these innovative approaches will strengthen VINCI’s vision for greater social and environmental engagement, ensuring that the contract is delivered with sustainability at its core.
A successful start for Gavin Jones
“The day was thoroughly exciting, very professional, and gave a great impression to our colleagues who deliver the service on the ground.
A massive thanks to all involved, it was a brilliant team effort and sets us up for a great start to the contract under the Gavin Jones brand.” - Sophie Yardley-Jones, Key Account Manager.
With this mobilisation successfully completed, our teams are set to deliver high-quality grounds maintenance and tree management services, embracing sustainable and innovative solutions for the benefit of the MOD Built Estate and the environment.
