Cultivating Success in East Anglia through CGM Group Acquisition

In the dynamic landscape of green services, the Nurture Landscapes Group has made headlines with its recent acquisition of Norfolk-based CGM Group.

This move, fuelled by a substantial £57 million investment from All Seas Capital, marks Nurture's largest acquisition in five years, solidifying its commitment to growth and market consolidation. The acquisition of CGM Group, the eighth in the past twelve months, signifies a strategic expansion into the East of England, promising to enhance Nurture's regional presence and capitalise on local expertise.

Founded 38 years ago as Country Ground Maintenance Ltd by the visionary husband-and-wife team, Tim and Julie Glover, CGM Group has evolved into a significant player in the green services sector. With a current turnover exceeding £15 million, CGM Group's impressive growth has been driven by its commitment to delivering top-notch grounds maintenance, arboriculture, and environmental services. The company's stellar reputation is reflected in its diverse clientele, including prominent names such as Amey Defence Systems and the Canals and Rivers Trust.

This strategic alignment aims to leverage the local knowledge and deep customer relationships cultivated by CGM Group over nearly four decades. The acquisition is not only a testament to Nurture's ambition but also a strategic decision to incorporate CGM Group's unique skills and offerings into its portfolio.

Tim and Julie Glover's decision to step away from the business, with their son Marcus Glover taking on the role of regional director, underscores the continuity and smooth transition of leadership. The Glovers' confidence in Nurture Group's values and commitment to sustainability highlights the shared ethos that influenced their decision.

The acquisition provides Nurture with a substantial presence in the East of England and presents an opportunity to expand its service offerings. CGM Group's expertise in grounds maintenance and arboriculture complements Nurture's existing portfolio, opening avenues for introducing new services such as winter gritting, pest control, and internal and external plant displays.

The synergy between Nurture and CGM Group extends beyond services to company values and management approaches. Nurture's national scale, capabilities, and reputation combined with CGM's regional knowledge create a powerful alliance that is poised to reinforce existing relationships and forge new ones across the region.
