Exciting news is on the horizon! Nurture Group is proud to announce that our dedicated team's exceptional work at Chiswick Park has earned us a prestigious BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) award for Grounds Maintenance in the Limited Public Access category. This accolade is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and we're thrilled to share this achievement with you.
The Oasis at Chiswick Park
Chiswick Park is more than just a business park; it's a thriving community and a hub for some of the world's leading companies. With Global, European, and National headquarters nestled within its green embrace, Chiswick Park believes in the transformative power of a beautiful work environment. The core philosophy is simple: if people enjoy their work, they do better work, which ultimately results in better business.
One of the hallmarks of Chiswick Park is its commitment to sustainability and biodiversity. The park is designed to be more than just a collection of buildings; it's a harmonious blend of green spaces, lush landscapes, and sustainable features. This commitment extends to creating a thriving ecosystem within the park.
Cultivating Biodiversity
Chiswick Park is not just an urban office space; it's a sanctuary for wildlife and biodiversity. Here's how we are making a difference:
Beekeeping for Biodiversity
Our Landscaping Manager and Beekeeper, Nelson Milburn, leads an educational beekeeping experience. The park hosts two beehives, providing a habitat for bees that play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and securing our food supply. Our Guest Landscaping Team regularly checks on the hives to ensure the health of our bee colonies.
Native Plants and Pollinators
We choose pollinator-friendly plants that flower throughout the year, providing a continuous source of pollen and nectar. This helps sustain bees and other pollinators throughout the seasons, contributing to a healthier ecosystem.
Bird Boxes for Nesting
To protect bird species during the breeding season, we've installed ten new bird boxes across the park. These sturdy boxes provide safe nesting spaces, safeguarding eggs from predators and offering better insulation.
Stumperies for Stag Beetles
Chiswick Park is proud to support stag beetles, a species currently facing habitat loss in London gardens. We've created stumperies from recycled wood, providing a habitat for stag beetles and other invertebrates. This effort contributes significantly to preserving invertebrate biodiversity.
Sustainable Tree Management
We are dedicated to maintaining the health of our trees. This year, we're planting 28 new trees, sourced from the UK to reduce emissions and the risk of disease spread. The wood from cut-down trees is recycled on-site as wood chippings and logs, benefiting wildlife habitat.
Creating Functional Workspaces
Chiswick Park is not just a place to work; it's a place to thrive. The outdoor spaces offer a wide range of functional seating areas, from tranquil spots by waterfalls to quiet spaces for meditation or reflection. These environments contribute to the well-being of individuals and foster a unique mindset that is conducive to productivity.
Incorporating elements of nature, such as wildlife, water, greenery, and trees, creates an environment that enhances the well-being and productivity of employees.
