It’s more than a Cycle to Work Day at Nurture Group

It’s more than a Cycle to Work Day at Nurture Group

We are encouraging our colleagues across the UK to take part in a Cycle to Work week, starting on 1st August to coincide with Cycle to Work day on 4th August.

With more than 70 regional locations across the UK, our team members are rarely more than 30 minutes from a client site or one of our offices – perfect for swapping four wheels for two, where possible.

This year marks 10 years of the Cycle to Work Day initiative, established by Cyclescheme.  Since 2019, World Cycle Day has logged more than three million rides and 38 million cumulative miles, which has contributed to around six million units of CO2 emissions being saved.  As a carbon neutral company, we are continuously looking at ways to reduce our environmental impact further, and a companywide Cycle to Work Week is another great way for us to play our part.

So how are we encouraging our teams to get on their bikes?

We are fortunate in the UK to have some outstanding areas of natural beauty, often on our daily commutes, but of course, taking them in while out on the road isn’t always easy.  So we are encouraging our teams to create a vlog or video diary of their journey into the office, as long as it is safe to do so of course.  As an added incentive, we will be giving out water bottles to all participants to help rehydrate them!

While our Cycle to Work week is something we’re excited for and a chance for fun, there is a serious point to make – health.  And by that, we mean physical, mental, and the health of the environment.  It goes without saying that cycling is good for the body, which in turn, can be good for the mind. And with the high fuel prices we have at the moment, opting for two wheels could also save money.

Our celebration of the Cycle to Work Day is only a few days away, but we believe it’s never too early to get in the saddle. Learn more here and keep watching our social media pages for updates from our nationwide teams as they mark Cycle to Work Day. The Love to Ride Cyclescheme community also has some great stories for added inspiration.
