Teesside Shopping Park

As part of the £12 million pound facelift of the existing Teesside retail development, there was a desire to create more space outside of the shop fronts, creating two key pedestrian routes, along with adding a landscaping aesthetic to enhance visitors shopping experiences.

Gavin Jones Ltd was awarded the soft landscaping package working directly for the main contractor.  Our roll involved tree tagging, organising contract growth of all shrub and herbaceous plant material. Visits were made to our key suppliers to check the quality of hedge material, Corten steel edging, timber seats and a bespoke play wall.

Gavin Jones Ltd also undertook supply and install of Corten steel edging, bespoke timber seating, Corten Steel play wall, play equipment, soft surfacing, 193 semi mature trees and over 25000 shrubs.

Construction was carried out over a 22 month period, including co-ordinating a structured shut-down of sections of the live car park and walk ways. This allowed us to ensure optimum Health and safety standards and work production, alongside ensuring minimal interruption to site visitors.  The scheme received a BALI Award in 2021, recognising the quality of the installation of the soft landscaping elements in particular.
